What This Is

Locally Owned Care is an independent verification service. It verifies whether a healthcare practice is majority-owned by clinicians who actively practice within the organization. It does not verify clinical quality, patient outcomes, pricing, or any other aspect of a practice’s operations.

Verification Accuracy

Verification is based on documentation and attestations submitted by practice owners. Locally Owned Care reviews these materials in good faith but does not independently audit financial records or conduct on-site inspections. If a submitted attestation is later found to be materially inaccurate, verification is revoked.

Badge Usage

Verified practices may display the Locally Owned Verified badge on their website and marketing materials for the duration of their active verification. The badge must be removed within 48 hours (digital) or 14 days (physical) if verification ends for any reason.

Unauthorized use of the badge by unverified practices is prohibited.

Notification of Changes

Verified practices must notify Locally Owned Care within 30 days of any change to ownership structure or operational control. Failure to notify may result in immediate revocation of verification.

No Endorsement

Inclusion in the registry does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or referral. Locally Owned Care takes no position on whether any ownership structure is better for patients.

Termination and Suspension

Locally Owned Care reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or revoke verification at its sole discretion, including for reasons not explicitly listed in the verification standard.

Limitation of Liability

This service is provided on an informational basis only. Locally Owned Care makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or completeness of any verification. In no event shall Locally Owned Care be liable for any damages arising from use of or reliance on registry information.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page.
